Russia business incubator “the thousand russias”

5th-6th June, 2013
Hall of “300”, Fiere di Parma, Viale delle Esposizioni 393 / Parma, Italy

Italia del Gusto is a private consortium that includes the best Italian companies in food and wine with the aim of promoting the internationalization and the development of export sales.

GEA Management Consultants, since the founding of the consortium, supports the strategic development of Italia del Gusto. Among other things, it has always animated the sharing of international best practices among the consortium within the ”Italia del Gusto Day” event.

In 2012 an innovative formula was launched: the Country Business Incubator, which consists of a one- and-a-half day symposium with practical workshops functional to the development of the business in the selected country.

Now, less than a year after the first Business Incubator dedicated to China, Italia del Gusto and Gea are presenting the development of the project focusing on the Russian market.

The next 5 th and 6th of June, at Fiere di Parma (Hall of “300”, Viale delle Esposizioni 393 / A) the Russia Business Incubator will take place under the name “The Thousand Russias”.

The distinctive characteristic is the constant presence of traders and institutions of the selected country made available to the consortium companies for the entire time of the conference.

A series of mini-stands will allow members to create business contacts with the potential partners or services for export in a one-to-one relationship. It is a new formula that combines the best of a workshop and a fair model.

Today Russia is perhaps the only BRIC to definitely represent for Italy something more than an hypothesis for the future. The value of Italian exports of agricultural-food products in Russia marked a value of 515 million euros(data ICE 2010), nearly 3 times the value of Italian exports towards Brazil, China and India combined.

A particular focus will be dedicated to two specific aspects of the Russian market: the many facets of the market – the “thousand Russias” – and the role of the extraordinary transactions as a way to enter the market.

The consumer insights in our possession show that the Russian market reflects the reality of a very complex country. Unconventional marketing approaches that aim to specific targets can deliver significant results, even with limited investments.

A second interesting element, as shown by the cases of Italian companies that became market leaders in Russia, is the important role of extraordinary transactions such as alliances and acquisitions.

Who will attend the Russia Business Incubator

The event will involve high-profile speakers such as Hon. Paolo De Castro, Chairman Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Parliament.

The stage of Russia Business Incubator will house several highly qualified speeches. Specific issues will be presented by the Italian Embassy in Moscow, in the person of Dr Leonardo Bencini, First Commercial Counsellor, and by ICE Moscow, with the contribution of Dr. Philip Covino.

There will also be a round table discussion with the participation of F&B managers, major restaurateurs, chefs and journalists, to discuss the latest market trends.

These presentations will be accompanied by sessions where traders and institutions can directly introduce themselves, explain their activities and services and meet the individual companies interested through one-to-one meetings.
